Important Hotel Information
- Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas 1.6 million lobby enhancement project begins April 12, 2010, with an expected completion date of July 31, 2010.
The property will take the following measures to minimize the impact of this Lobby Enhancement Project on guests:
Work will be done only Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Work areas will be cordoned off from view and most heavy work will be completed during the first two weeks.
For the duration of the project, the Front Desk and Activities Desk will be moved to a clearly marked unit adjacent to the lobby. The four low-rise buildings will not be affected by the construction and will remain open throughout the project.
From April 12th through April 30th, the Aloha Tower, in which the lobby is located, will be closed. Effective May 1st, only the upper floors of the tower available to guests in order to create a buffer zone to minimize noise and disturbance.
Guests will be provided with cold beverages, snacks and cold towels upon arrival. Both the complimentary daily coffee service and the complimentary, weekly Mai Tai Party will continue throughout the renovation period.
Both the Day Spa and the One Stop General Store will be closed for the duration of the project. They will reopen during the grand opening in August.

This hotel is well located on a beach where you can snorkel right off the hotel frontage. It has wide grass lawns, convenient pools and the loft unit we stayed in was well appointed with a modern kitchen, quiet and just right. We recommend the 2-story buildings over the tower - which was in construction at the time; even if the tower were not under construction, however, the convenience of the smaller buildings is a distinct advantage. The small building units all seem to view the lawns and pools and/or ocean and just have a better vacation feel. The staff was helpful, friendly and the area was an excellent section of Kaanapali - there is a trolly that you can take to Whaler's Village or the Sheraton (black rock), and parking was never a problem for our car. Surf locations are just 10 minutes down the road near Lahaina and diving locations are also close by at black rock, Honolua and others.

We had a fabulous time in our 1 bed/1 bath at the Kaanapali Villas! Great decor, nice furniture, private lanai, and it was wonderful to have a full kitchen when we wanted it. Ate breakfast at the Castaway Cafe on the beach- twice (had to go back for the banana macadamia nut pancakes! Staff was very welcoming and the grounds were stellar. Grounds were beautifully maintained and pretty expansive. The beach was really nice and clean, and the waves are just right for all types of swimmers. The sunsets from the beach were a romantic event every night too. The AC wasn't cold, but it comfortable during our stay. Ceiling fans were a must. Wi-fi's signal wasn't super strong, but we barely used it because we were on vacation in Maui... Overall we loved our time here and will absolutely return when we can!

We stayed here for our honeymoon, and we thought it was definately right for the price...I mean, sure there are better quality hotels but when you don't want to spend too much but still have a good time this place is worth it. Great restaurant almost right in front of the ocean, great pool that you can bring drinks to (no in-pool bar but still great). The rooms had a hawaiin feel to them. With so many good things, there has to be a couple of MINOR setbacks. Much of the hotel is pretty outdated and could easily be updated. Wallpaper in the bathrooms, the shower did not have hot water at first but we had to figure it out so it worked for us. Wish they could have had a complimentary breakfast available, but we wanted to try out the restaurants anyways! (Betty's Beach Cafe is a must at least for breakfast! It's off of Front Street downtown - delish and oceanfront!) One thing that grossed me out was there was a cockroach in the bathroom one morning. YUCK! But the hubby picked it up and threw it in the toilet..we got over it! Also, the few times we were in the room during the day it was gauranteed there would be construction. We were not in the room much anyways, there is SO much to do in Maui! Overall, great hotel..but could be updated a little. Loved the pool area, great walking distance to the beach and driving distance to other destinations. The rooms and staff were nice..

the room was great along with the hotel staff and even accomodated us further by letting us hang around until our flight left at 8:30 pm. gave us a key to the exercise room so we could shower off after our day on the beach, regular check out time being 12:00 am. only wished we had known more about all the ammenites available like kayaks and snorkling gear, but that was probably our fault for not asking more questions. would go again though especially knowing now the things available to guests at the hotel. thank you xyz

Although some rooms are bit dated, this place is old Hawaii. We live on Oahu and came to Maui for a break from the "big" city. Kanapali is a lovely place. Gorgeous beaches, great restaurants and bars, excellent shopping. The Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas is spread out on lovely landscaped grounds and fronts the ocean. The front desk staff, especially Craig & Stephanie, will make your stay perfect. We had a very large studio that was remodeled. More than enough space and a kitchen to boot. We will come back here for sure.
